Our clients and partners include technology companies, international broadcasters, news organizations and high end studios looking to create narratively complex cinematic VR experiences distributed across multiple platforms and devices.
For the launch of Daydream VR, Google reached out to Liquid Cinema Inc to support the expansion of Liquid Cinema to include the Daydream Platform, calling it “entirely unique and the most sophisticated approach to cinematic VR we have seen to date” – Jake Mintz / VR Video Product Lead. When daydream launched, Liquid Cinema was used to power cinematic VR in three apps:The WSJ, ARTE and ZDF Daydream app.
Wall Street Journal
For the Google Daydream launch the WSJ launched an app allowing users to step inside a virtual room and stay informed with breaking news, follow the markets with a live markets data visualization and immerse themselves in compelling narratives with interactive 360-degree videos.
To bring The Wall Street Journal to life for Daydream users the Journal collaborated with Liquid Cinema Inc., Nonny De La Peña’s Emblematic Group as well as London-based architecture practice Michaelis Boyd Associates for the virtual environment.
The cinematic VR component of the project is powered by the native Liquid Cinema’s Daydream SDK which was expanded to allow for gaze based branching narrative and Unity compatibility.
“We wanted to push the boundaries of what was possible with VR, while remaining faithful to what makes The Wall Street Journal truly distinctive: outstanding financial and business journalism. Our app brings to the forefront the daily drama of the markets, told with live data and 360-degree video.”
